MQ-600 · Match Qualified

Match Qualified

MQ-600 tests repeatable, match-grade precision at exactly 600 yards: three 5-shot groups, scored as an aggregate. The format matches the recognized NBRSA three-group aggregate convention.

A Qual8 precision standard — not a sanctioned match.

01

Three groups of five at 600. Scored as one aggregate.

MQ-600 is a Qual8 precision standard — not a sanctioned match. The “Qualified” suffix means you have proven readiness for match-grade precision — not that you won a match.

MQ-600 is bench-required and shot at exactly 600 yards. You fire three groups of five — fifteen rounds — and the score is the aggregate group size across the three targets, measured as extreme spread in MOA.

02

The ladder, against the real record board.

The tiers are set against what actually wins at 600 yards — not a marketing number. The all-time three-group aggregate record is roughly 0.23 MOA; a real match win is around 0.30 MOA; “competitive in average conditions” is about 0.32 MOA. The marketed “1-MOA rifle” works out to about 6.28 inches at 600 — looser than mid-pack.

So 0.50 MOA means you would hold your own in a real field, and 0.25 MOA puts you on the record board.

The ladder — 3-target aggregate, extreme spread in MOA

≤ 0.25 MOAMQ-600 Elite

≈ 1.57 in at 600 — the record-board band.

≤ 0.40 MOAMQ-600 Competitive

Clearly top-half of a real field.

≤ 0.50 MOAMQ-600 (Qualify)

≈ 3.1 in — you would hold your own in a benchrest field.

Where the lines come from — these are the record board, not award tiers:

All-time 3-group aggregate record
≈ 0.23 MOA
A real match win
≈ 0.30 MOA
Competitive in average conditions

The marketed "1-MOA rifle"

03

Guards that actually bind, and an honest name.

Supporting guards

The aggregate is not the only check. A single group cannot blow out past roughly 1.3× the tier's pass line, and group-center spread and mean radius are held to fractions of that line — so one lucky aggregate cannot carry a sloppy target.

Match-grade, not a match

“Qualified” means you have proven match-grade precision — not that you won a match. It is a standard you earn on paper, not a competition result.

Velocity informs

A chronograph is optional and informational. Environment and sight picture are recorded as context. None of them block an MQ-600 award.

Prove it at 600.

Set up at exactly 600 yards, fire your three groups, and let the aggregate decide. Qualify at 0.50, climb to Competitive at 0.40, and chase Elite at 0.25.
